If you don't want to be disturbed by call waiting tones during a call, VoIP Internet phone service allows you to temporarily disable the call waiting feature. Simply press *70, listen for a special tone followed by a dial tone, then dial the number you want to call. For the duration of that call only, all incoming calls will go directly to voice mail instead of initiating a call waiting tone. Once you hang-up and end that call, the call waiting feature will automatically reset.
